The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps motor-racing circuit is the venue of a new Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo event. The Spaniard of Kurdish heritage and his teammate Jesse Anttila eye podium finish with Leipert Motorsport-entered car.
Isaac Tutumlu approaches another thrilling weekend with the Lamborghini Huracan LP620-2 of Leipert Motorsport and the Barcelona-born driver will team up with Finland´s Jesse Anttila once again, his teammate at Paul Ricard. In France they both were in podium contention when, with Anttila lapping an amateur back marker on the very last lap, his car was hit by rival and heavy damage prevented the Spanish-Finnish duo from finishing.
The Belgian event promises another exciting climax and, as it takes place in the frame of the Spa 24 hours, both Lamborghini races will attract large crowds. Besides, Spa-Francorchamps is for Tutumlu the opportunity to showcase his driving skills more than ever. “Spa-Francorchamps is always something very special for any driver. And this year we will be racing there in the frame of the 24 hours of Spa, so it is even better. When you drive a racing car through La Source, the Raidillon or Blanchimont you realize it is a unique experience” Tutumlu explains, underling that “we had mixed feelings at Spa-Francorchamps last year during the International GT Open event. We had a massive crash on Saturday but then we were able to secure race win on Sunday, after I myself posted the pole position time with our Chevrolet Corvette. I am feeling optimistic for next weekend, because my experience with the car is continuously improving and Jesse, despite he is a pretty young driver, proved to be a quick one at Paul Ricard. I will try to support and help him as much as possible. Our goal is to finish on the podium, which we almost clinched at Paul Ricard when Jesse was hit by the back marker. And Spa is the best venue to meet that goal as the best GT teams around the world attend the event!”.
Spa-Francorchamps timetable will be different with the event getting underway as early as Thursday, with two free practice sessions. Friday´s qualifying session takes place at 11.55 with race one at 14.25. Finally race two takes place at 11.40. They both are 50-minute races.
