Another interesting new entry in this year’s International GT Open will be AERT, the new squad fostered by a group of Russian investors and Anton Nebylitskiy. The 25-year-old driver from Moscow is switching to GT after a career in single-seater Renault World series formulae and having spent the last four seasons in the FR 3.5. He will be team principal and driver of the new structure.
AERT has chosen a Lamborghini Gallardo FL02 to campaign the GT Open and has acquired one of the units with which Grasser Racing won international GT competitions last year. The team will have its technical base in Castellón, Spain and will be managed by Félix Porteiro, the former WTCC driver, who belongs to a well-known racing family.
The team will be testing on track in the forthcoming days at Ricard and Barcelona and is currently finalizing the selection of its other driver. Rumors have it that it may be a very well-known and winning figure of the GT Open…
